The Ordinance SPA/MF No. 1,475, dated September 16, 2024, established new rules and deadlines for the adjustment of companies intending to operate in the fixed-odds betting market in Brazil. As of October 1, 2024, only legal entities that have submitted a license authorization request to the Ministry of Finance by the date of the Ordinance’s publication will be allowed to continue operating in the country.
After this period, starting on October 10, websites operating without meeting the requirements will have their domains blocked and their apps removed from platforms. These companies are also required to allow players access to their deposits for the return of funds by the same date, October 10.
It is important to note that, starting January 1, 2025, only operators whose authorization requests have been approved by the Ministry of Finance will be allowed to offer fixed-odds betting in Brazil. Brands registered with the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets must operate under Brazilian domains with the “.bet.br” extension.
StarsPay, in compliance with the regulations defined by the Ministry of Finance, will cease its services to sites that have not met the requirements as of October 1. The StarsPay team is available for further clarifications and to resolve any questions that may arise during the process.
